"Glass is my passion, my fire. My drive comes from wanting to touch people emotionally, so they can lose themselves in the details of my art."
Born into the third generation of an established Austrian glassblowing family in 1991, Peter Kuchler III, who also goes by the pseudonym P3, was quickly captivated by glass art. Several years of developing and honing his own technique have resulted in distinctive sculptures that deliberately interweave colour and light. Playing on his fascination with the longevity of glass (it retains its shape and colour for thousands of years), the contemporary artist aims to create art for "eternity."
Combining traditional quality craftsmanship with a bold, unique approach, has proven successful for the 31 year-old. Not only has he garnered international recognition for exhibiting in more than twenty cities worldwide, but he has also graced the cover of the Dorotheum catalogue. In 2021, he was named "Most Exciting Artist" in Forbes Magazine's "Under 30" list in Austria/Germany/Switzerland.
