Painting is my greatest passion. To be able to enter into a creative bubble and shut off the rest of the world is amazingly peaceful.
As a child growing up, the most fun Grace von Essen had in school was while drawing or doing math. Her adult life would combine both passions. Choosing financial management as a career path was not an ignorant decision because working with numbers and satisfying clients proved fulfilling for Grace. After twenty years in the business however, an intuition prompted the Stockholm native to follow her dream of becoming a full-time artist.
Heavily rooted in nature’s beauty, Grace's inspiration to create abstract works projects an expression of and appreciation for colour and the celebration of human emotions. By devoting great attention to detail in the world around her, Grace is conscious of the impact her environment has on her senses and not surprisingly, her work reflects intense emotional moments in life.
Having spent portions of her life in both Spain and Sweden, Grace noticed how living in close proximity to water provides wondrous, inspirational lighting. Long summer nights in Sweden particularly entice the artist to capture nature's beauty on canvas.
Grace currently lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden, where she has steadily amounted a significant base of international collectors. Her oil and acrylic originals can be found in homes in Denmark, Norway, Germany, UK, Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Spain, Greece, the USA, Canada, Taiwan, Thailand and Lithuania.
